Lori Boulard is a California native and poetry addict. Her poems have appeared or are forthcoming in various publications, most recently Chiron Review, Hazmat Review, Nerve Cowboy, and Poets Collective. She lives in the suburbs with her Frenchman and two kids and works in corporate finance, all of which fuel her poetry more than one might imagine.

Bright lights bounce
among mirrors
reflections in caricature
curiosity
surrounding innocence.
She turns a corner
and sees herself wide,
wavy, tall, small,
each distortion extreme
yet strangely familiar.
Wandering into the open,
embraced by reality
she is haunted by
the notion of something
left behind.
